About the Founder
Hi, I’m Betsy Kauffman, Founder, CEO and Coach at Cross Impact, TED speaker, and mentor in the Charlotte Women in Business Mentoring Program. In addition to my Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University, I also spent 20+ years working in corporate America trying to figure out how to balance motherhood, working full time, climbing the corporate ladder in a competitive environment where women weren’t supportive of each other, and supporting my husband while he started his own business. In 2014, I started Cross Impact when I realized the work I loved to do and the impact it made was desperately needed in organizations around the world.
I am constantly surrounded by boys/men in my home (growing up as the only girl on both sides of my family) living with my husband, and our 2 teenage. I even spent 5 years working for the Boy Scouts of America.
Growing up in a “guys world” has helped me be successful working in male-dominated fields.
My ”boys” are really into cars so we have a garage full of fun cars to drive as well as ATV’s, dirt bikes, and a boat.
While I’m not working or spending time with my sons, I enjoy boating on the lake near our home. I love entertaining and often have friends over for drinks or dinner. You can also find me playing ball with my dogs – Ellie, Sadie, and Oakley. I am a huge fan of rescuing dogs and have been a “foster fail” mom to three lab rescues.
Now for some fun!

Current Obsessions:
Hi there, I’m Natalie Solomon, Senior Organizational Consultant at Cross Impact. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I absolutely love people and building high-performing teams. One of my biggest strengths is being a connector. Without strong connections with people, it’s nearly impossible to understand their needs and help them embrace change – and change is constant!
I started my career off in recruitment with a dual major in business administration and human relations. From there, I joined Skyland Marketing and became an account manager, working in the automotive industry. I was responsible for building customer satisfaction surveys that impacted JD Power. This is where I really became data-driven and learned to experiment with different approaches.
Eventually, I became an entrepreneur within companies, starting new businesses within them to scale them up. At one point, I built out the retail bank and private banking sectors for a company I worked with. I’ve always been client-centric, looking at everything through their lens and figuring out how to put a plan in place to achieve their goals. I’m pretty pragmatic and data-driven in my approach, and I’m always tenacious in understanding their needs so that I can lay out a foundation to measure progress.
I spent most of my career on the business side of things until I landed at AOL. There, I became their subject matter expert for everything from their ecommerce platform to their distribution center. Even though I had no technology experience, I was able to communicate with the technology team and translate the business needs into solutions. I’ve spent the rest of my career in the technology space, but I can still interface with any vertical or horizontal within a company and understand how the work they do applies to achieving our clients’ goals.
I started my agile journey at AOL, moving away from waterfall and experimenting with new ways of working. I’ve been passionate about embracing change ever since, and I’m excited to continue helping teams grow and thrive.
When I’m not busy helping people to connect and embrace change, you can find me traveling or spending time with my dog (or both, he’s my travel buddy too)!
